About this Event
Potlucks are a traditional dinner, where attendees cook a single dish, and enough of that dish to share (2+ servings), then bring that dish with them to the dinner. We spend time with each other and have an opportunity to serve others by cooking for them or appreciating what others have cooked.
Potlucks on fast days are a special tradition because we also remember what we were or are fasting for, and many choose to keep their fast going until the potluck. Fasting is a spiritual practice where you abstain from something, typically food and water, for two meals; instead directing the time and money you saved towards those that need it. There will be no formal group breaking of our fasts at the event - fasting is individual and some may not be fasting. But whether you are fasting today or not, you are welcome to bring your dish and share of ours.
