October 30 - SAMHAIN: Seanchaíocht agus Scannán - Storytelling and Film
Host: Andrea Healy
Info: As the nights grow darker and the veil between worlds grows thin, we gather to celebrate Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival rooted in Ireland, marking the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. A time of transition, Samhain was a night when the boundaries between the living and the Otherworld were believed to soften, when the Aos Sí — the supernatural beings of Irish folklore — moved through the landscape, and when stories carried the wisdom, fears and wonders of generations past.
In the spirit of Seanchaíocht — the Irish tradition of storytelling — join us for tales, film and a little draíocht (magic). Together, we’ll step into the world of folklore, the mysterious and the unknown, where old traditions meet new stories and imagination takes flight.
