About this Event
This 2-and-half hour workshop is for all expectant parents wishing to achieve a physiological birth.
There is a strong body of evidence that suggests that staying at home until labour has established will maximise your chances of having a physiological birth with minimal intervention.
Early labour is a process that can take up to a few hours or last for a few days. This workshop is designed to equip expectant parents with the knowlegde, tools and confidence to manage early labour at home regardless of whether they intend to remain at home or are choosing to come in and birth on the midwifery-led birth centre or the obstetric-led labour ward.
We will provide you with practical advice about how to set up your environment to maximise a sense of calmness, use simple tools that will provide comfort measures and explore practical relaxation methods.
It is set to be an interactive session so please come in comfortable clothing!
The second half of the session will provide those who are curious about birth at home information about our homebirth service at Chelsea and Westminster. We will also discuss some positive birth stories of families we have cared for!
We look forwards to you joining us!
