Cultivate Workshop Series
In celebration of this landmark year, New Earth Theatre is offering the Cultivate Workshop Series as a fundraiser for our 30th Anniversary campaign. Taking place from August to December, there will be new workshops on offer every month. For August, we are offering:
Acting for Camera with Tina Chiang
A popular misconception about screen acting is that an actor just has to 'do less' - in fact, working on camera requires tremendous skill and the courage to be truthful under extremely artificial circumstances. This introduction to screen acting, led by Tina Chiang, is suitable for any performer curious about the key differences between stage and screen acting. Using practical exercises, you will learn how to adjust a stage performance for the screen, create memorable takes and prepare for day-player roles using details in the breakdown. Previous participants of this workshop are welcome to attend should they want a refresher.
Acting for Camera is the first class in the Cultivate Workshop Series, brought to you by New Earth Theatre as a fundraiser for its 30th Anniversary Campaign. . More workshops will be added regularly so be sure to check out what's on offer. All workshops are £15, plus the Eventbrite service charge of £1.63.
As this is a fundraiser, if you are able to, we ask that you consider donating on top of the £16.63 class fee and service charge.

A previous New Earth Academy tutor, Tina has spent four summers filming as a semi-regular on 'THE SISTER BONIFACE MYSTERIES'. Her TV credits include the award-winning 'BODYGUARD', 'CHIMERICA', 'SILENT WITNESS', 'RUN', 'CORONATION STREET', 'RELLICK', 'FEARLESS' and 'CASUALTY'. Film credits include the BAFTA-winning 'ROCKS' and 'APARTMENT 7A' with Julia Garner.
