Creature Comforts Hand Hooking Workshop
Curious about textile craft? Join artist Valerie Carew in person for the Creature Comforts Hand Hooking Workshop! It's a fun, laid-back session where you'll learn the art of hand hooking to create your own cozy, nature-inspired pieces. Perfect for beginners and seasoned crafters alike. Grab your friends or come solo—either way, you’ll leave with new skills and some handmade goodness. Don’t miss out on this cool, hands-on experience!
Learn: Participants will learn the basics of traditional hand hooked rug making, using a mix of repurposed textiles and yarns. Choose a pre-drawn 10” x 10” pattern. Valerie will guide you through class demonstrations and one-on-one instruction.
Create: By the end of the workshop, you will have a textile piece in progress on an embroidery hoop, and the knowledge to continue the project on your own.
Materials: A take-home kit is included, and we will provide extra materials and supplies, including a fabric strip cutter.
The take-home kit includes:
- rug hooking hook
- 12” beechwood hoop
- 18”x 18” burlap backing
