Blending blues and British pop with hard rock riffs, Cream featured virtuosos Eric Clapton, who later catapulted to international mega stardom, on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, and drumming wildman Ginger Baker. Rock historian and author Richie Unterberger presents and discusses film performances of the group during their brief but massively popular career in the late 1960s, including the blockbuster hits "Sunshine of Your Love" and "White Room." He'll also show clips of the groups the band were members of pre and post Cream.
Richie Unterberger is the author of numerous rock music history books, including volumes on the Who, the Beatles, and 1960s folk-rock. His latest book, Do What You Fear Most: The History of the Velvet Underground, was published by Omnibus Press in spring 2026. He teaches non-credit adult education courses on rock music history at several Bay Area colleges, including the University of San Francisco, San Francisco State, and UC Berkeley.
