About this Event
Perhaps you've thought about running but aren't convinced you're fit enough to start. Maybe you've tried before and decided it wasn't for you. Or perhaps you already run, but changes in your body, energy, recovery or confidence have left you wondering what running needs to look like now.
In this interactive session, running coach Jules Scudder will explore some of the things that can get in the way of starting, returning to or continuing running through perimenopause and menopause.
Rather than telling you how you should run, we'll look at the assumptions we can make about what we're capable of, the very real changes that can affect how exercise feels during menopause, and how we can build confidence and trust in ourselves when things feel different.
There'll be plenty of opportunities to share experiences, ask questions and think about what running could look like for you, whether you've never run before, are returning after time away or already have your trainers firmly in rotation.
After the talk and Q&A, you'll have the option to join Jules and The Bridge team for a relaxed, supported social run. There'll be no pace or distance to hit, walking is absolutely welcome and nobody will be left behind.
You don't need to arrive feeling like a runner. Come curious, wear something comfortable to move in if you'd like to join us outside, and see what you think.

Here We Glow: Navigating menopause through community and wellbeing
The Bridge is hosting Here We Glow, a six-month programme supporting women through perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause with information, wellbeing and community.
Every woman experiences menopause differently, but no one should have to navigate it alone. Through a diverse programme of expert talks, comedy, workshops, movement and wellbeing sessions, Here We Glow creates space to learn, share experiences, connect with others and feel more confident through change.
Whether you're looking for trusted information, practical ways to support your wellbeing, a chance to move and laugh, or simply to meet women who get it, there's a place for you here.
About The Bridge
For 94 years The Bridge has been a welcoming space where women come together to prioritise health and wellbeing, support one another through life’s stages and challenge what holds them back. Based in the heart of Southwark, we run a rich programme of fitness, wellbeing and community activities designed for women.
Our women only gym and studio offer a wide range of equipment and classes, from pilates to strength training and targeted hormonal health sessions, all led by skilled, compassionate instructors who put strength, balance and confidence first. Our specialist progjects range from a diverse menopause programme, monthly supper clubs, creative health activities and our Friday mums programme to name just a few.
We offer versatile spaces for partnerships, projects and hire, including meeting rooms, our multi use studio, a warm cafe environment that can be configured for semiprivate or fully private meetings, birthday parties, dinners, gigs, Christmas parties and more, plus a garden and a kitchen. Everything you need to run workshops, launches, team days, clinics or supper events.
The Bridge continues to grow as a space where women can show up as you are, connect with others and discover what becomes possible when women have space to belong.
