About this Event
Contract-based arbitrations - an alternative to BIT arbitrations?
Join us in person for a lively discussion on whether contract-based arbitrations could be a game-changer compared to traditional BIT arbitrations. Perfect for anyone curious about alternative dispute resolutions in international agreements. Let's explore new angles and share insights!
The IFILA North America Chapter is proud to have been selected to be part of the New York Arbitration Week with its first event in North America. Kindly hosted by Skadden, the speakers will discuss whether, and if so, to what extent contract-based arbitrations could be considered a viable alternative to BIT arbitrations, which are increasingly restricted by host States and critically viewed by the (uninformed or wrongly informed) general public and some critcial (activist) academics. Recently, ICSID and UNIDROIT have looked into this issue and have presented proposals which will form the basis for the discussions of this panel.
The speakers are all seasoned highly experienced arbitration experts.
