About this Event
Cycle Confidence Social Ride
Fancy getting out on your bike, meeting other local cyclists and building your confidence on the road?
Join us for a friendly social/local group ride, designed for rusty cyclisys who can already ride a bike but would like to feel more confident cycling on the roads and riding with other people.
As we cycle together, you’ll naturally develop your road confidence and skills with support from a friendly qualified coach and experienced ride leader and your fellow riders.
You’ll build confidence through riding as part of a group and using local roads, including:
- Riding confidently alongside other cyclists and road users
- Choosing safe road positions
- Passing parked cars and navigating side roads
- Approaching and making turns at junctions
- Communicating with other riders
- Following a local route and planning journeys by bike
- Building confidence riding in different local road situations
The pace will be friendly and supportive, with regular opportunities to stop, chat, ask questions and take a break if needed.
Bikes and helmets:
We have a range of bikes and helmets available, or you’re welcome to bring your own.
Please arrive 15 minutes early so we can fit your bike and helmet and introduce everyone before we set off.
