Boardroom Futures: Your Seat at the Table is an in-person event for students and beginners who want to explore leadership and life in the boardroom.
What to expect
You’re invited to join Youth Leads UK and the Institute of Directors (IoD) for an interactive evening where young people and directors come together to rethink who gets a seat at the table.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll team up with experienced directors to tackle real business challenges involving people, technology, inclusion and social impact. Bring your ideas and fresh perspective; the directors will bring years of boardroom experience. Together, you’ll explore how to solve the kinds of problems businesses face every day.
Meet directors and explore NED roles
Hear directly from directors about what non-executive directors (NEDs) actually do, how they got there and how you could get there too. You’ll also have the chance to network with directors and business leaders, grow your confidence and explore possible mentoring opportunities.
No boardroom experience is needed.
Agenda
- 5:00pm: Arrival and welcome drinks
- 5:30pm: Welcome, introductions and a panel on what NEDs do
- 6:00pm: Problem-solving challenge in mixed teams
- 6:35pm: Team feedback and wrap-up
- 7:00pm: Networking and drinks
- 7:30pm: Close
This event is open to young people aged 18 to around 25, including university students, young professionals, and Youth Leads members and alumni. Places are limited, so make sure you grab yours!
Non-alcoholic drinks and food will be provided, with vegetarian options.
