About this Event

🌳 Community Orchard SummitHosted by The Orchard Project

A gathering of community orchardists, growers & changemakers, coming together to learn, share and reimagine thriving community spaces.

📍 Calthorpe Community Garden, London📅 Saturday 18th October, 10:30am – 1:30pm

Are you involved in a community growing project—or dreaming of joining one? This summit is for you! Join orchardists, growers, changemakers, and community gardeners for a day of inspiration, learning, and connection. Whether you’re tending an orchard, growing food, or regenerating your local patch, you’ll leave with new skills, fresh ideas, and meaningful connections.

✨ What’s happening:

  • 🎤 Inspiring Talks – Hear from Beth Cullen, a CICO (Certificate in Community Orcharding) graduate, on the story of Horsenden Farm Community Garden & Orchard, and Ewa Krupa horticulturalist at RHS Wisely about their evolving approach to orchard management.

  • 🔧 Practical Workshops – Get hands-on with tool care (BYOT - bring your own tools!) in a session led by The Orchard Project facilitator and CICO graduate Gavin Clarke, and learn about creating wildlife ponds in orchards with Froglife.

  • 🌿 Gardeners’ World–style Orchard Question Time – Put your questions to our expert panel of growers, community leaders, TOP staff member and council representative.

  • 🍎 Apple Tasting – Sample a variety of heritage apples from Brogdale and discover the magic of apple diversity.

  • 🥧 Apple-Inspired Bake Share – Bring along your best apple bake (cake, pie, crumble… surprise us!) and join in a delicious community harvest table.

  • 🍲 Warming Lunch & Refreshments – Nourishing food to keep the ideas flowing.

  • 🌱 Networking & Cross-Pollination – Connect with fellow growers, biodiversity builders, and ecological citizens.

🎤 Plus: be the first to hear about our exciting new fundraising campaign with CEO Kath Rosen!

Can you imagine a future where everyone in our towns and cities is within walking distance of a thriving community orchard?

That’s the kind of future we want to see.

Together, we are restoring our world—one orchard, garden, and community at a time.

🎟 Tickets: £5 - priced to make it accessible for all. Feel free to give a further donation on the day if you are able to help support our work. Secure your place soon - spaces are limited!
