"Community Connections: Celebrating the Power of Your Voice" is a day to connect with people of Sioux Falls you might not otherwise meet, strengthening our ties and empowering us to shape a culture of mutual respect and resilience. We'll have live entertainment by the powerhouse funk/soul/rock band, Etta and the Vendetta. The Abatimbo Group will bring the joy and high energy of traditional Burundi drumming while interacting with the audience. Enjoy pizza, hot dogs, and soft drinks--on the house--while visiting vendor tables. Have a go at zine making at our table all set with supplies. There will be voting information with a voter simulation table complete with sample ballots and ballot measure info. Get tips on community and personal safety. Emcee Julian Beaudion will provide conversation starters to get you talking to your neighbor! There'll be a raffle with one ticket per attendee--no charge. Come and go as you please - there's no charge for Community Connections. This day of community building is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of South Dakota and the NAACP of Sioux Falls and hosted by the Lutheran Social Services Multicultural Center. Join us at 515 N. Main Ave., downtown Sioux Falls!
