About this Event
Remember colouring in with no plan and no one checking your work? On Sunday 8 November, textiles artist and movement guide Nicola-Amy hosts a slow, tactile afternoon of paint, crayon and calico, and every pound raised goes to South East London Mind.
Nicola-Amy has spent her career at the intersection of dance and creation. Rooted in West African dance and heritage, she studied Textiles Design & Innovation at Loughborough University, and her work explores mental health and the body through cloth and movement. From 2024 to 2025 she worked as an Art Peer Support with Mind, using creative expression in community-led sessions, so raising money for the charity is personal to her. In March 2025 she co-led a workshop with BWA Network × Southbank Centre that combined somatic movement, guided drawing and breathwork.
'Colour Me In' is an afternoon built on permission and play. It is quieter and more hands-on, and it centres on colour. We’re working in seven shades: light purple, dark purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red. Choose one for how you feel today, or use all seven. Paint, crayon or both, whatever your hands want.
Your canvas brings us back to textiles, and to making something you can hold.
No experience is needed. Expect good company, a little music and an afternoon with nothing to prove.
