Colorado School of Mines Men's Rugby – 60th Anniversary CelebrationThis upcoming semester marks a historic milestone for Colorado School of Mines Men's Rugby—our 60th Anniversary.
As the first rugby club established in Colorado, Mines Rugby has built a proud legacy spanning six decades. From the pioneering players of the inaugural team, including Rick Carlson and Marv Kay, to the generations of Orediggers who followed, this anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate the people, traditions, and achievements that have made the club what it is today.
To commemorate this occasion, we are planning a special 60th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, November 7, 2026. The day will include:
An Alumni Match
A Club Banquet and Celebration in the evening
Opportunities to reconnect with former teammates, coaches, and friends from across the decades
We're providing as much advance notice as possible so alumni can make travel arrangements and secure accommodations early.
In the meantime, we are working to update and expand our alumni contact list. Please take a moment to complete the form below so we can keep you informed as event details are finalized:

We also encourage you to share this information with any former Mines Rugby players you are still in contact with so they can receive updates and be part of the celebration.
Sixty years of Mines Rugby is a remarkable achievement—one that no other rugby club in Colorado can claim. This is more than an anniversary; it's a celebration of the players, friendships, traditions, and memories that have shaped the club for generations.
We hope you'll join us on November 7th to honor our history, reconnect with old teammates, and help make this a truly memorable occasion.
Once a Miner, Always a Miner.
