Beat the January blues with a Colmore Taster Tour! This January, Birmingham Colmore has teamed up with Southside District to bring you a series of foodie evenings celebrating Birmingham’s fantastic food and drink scene.
Each guided tour visits three local venues, where you’ll enjoy a delicious taster dish paired with a drink at every stop. Whether you’re discovering somewhere new, revisiting old favourites or looking for a unique Christmas gift, these tours are a brilliant way to explore the city’s vibrant hospitality scene.
Members of the Birmingham Colmore and Southside teams will guide you along the way, sharing their local knowledge and introducing you to some of the fantastic venues on our doorstep.
Vegetarian, vegan and non-alcoholic options are available, and we’ll ask you to share any dietary requirements when booking.
With just 20 tickets available for each Chinatown tour, places are limited, so book early to avoid missing out!
Your evening itinerary
5:30pm–6:15pm | Ming Moon Restaurant & Karaoke Bar
Start your evening at Ming Moon, enjoy a Peking roast duck bao paired a Ming Moon signature cockatil or oolong tea. For our veggie or vegan diners there will be a delicious Aubergine bao.

6:15pm–7:00pm | Dragon Gate Restaurant
Next, gather around the table at Dragon Gate for a shared feast featuring a variety of dishes, including beef fillet, trio roast meat, sweet and sour pork, salt and pepper tofu, stir-fried pak choi and fried rice.
Enjoy the spread with a beer or a glass of house wine.

7:00pm–7:45pm | I Tongseoi & Dessert
Finish your evening on a sweet note at I Tongseoi & Dessert, where traditional desserts meet a modern twist. Enjoy their signature shaved ice feast or a classic egg tart, rounding off your tour with something sweet.
