Textile repair with Kundakala for Hackney's Fixathon Day
Join us on Saturday October 10, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Pembury Community Centre for a special Fixathon Day dedicated to repair and mending! This event, hosted by Hackney Council, celebrates the power of fixing and encourages a repair-first culture in the borough.
Repairing and mending your items is far more sustainable than buying new. Let’s make Hackney greener and more resourceful by embracing repair, reducing waste and supporting a shift toward a circular economy. All repairs will be FREE!
Need to know:
- Please book a 20 minute time slot with an expert fixer.
- Bring up to two clothing items from home that need some love and repair.
- Zip and bag repairs will not be accepted.
- If you would like a button repair please bring your own.

Kundakala runs sewing and enterprise skills training for women with low-income ethnic minority backgrounds. Through our programmes we enable women to save money, reduce debt, and explore an avenue of income generation.
