About this Event
Deadwood is a tree or part of a tree that has died and is in a state of decomposition. Is the deadwood in your wood dead good?
Deadwood is absolutely amazing, it plays a big part in nutrient recycling, acts as a carbon storage system, helps the stability of woodland soil.
Deadwood is an important micro habitat for birds, mammals, fungi, plants, amphibians, reptiles, insects and even fish! But sadly this habitat is under studied and under threat. This is why we in the TCV Citizen Science team have produced the Dead Good Deadwood Survey, to get more people excited about deadwood and its protection.
This workshop is aimed at complete beginners, so don't worry if you're completely new to citizen science.
We'll end the session with a cup of tea under the trees!
We'll be meeting in the car park on Cochno Road. https://w3w.co/printers.weeps.keyboards

This event is running as part of our new West Dunbartonshire Citizen Science group. Every Thursday, we’ll be heading out into the local area to explore, discover and survey the wildlife around us. Together, we’ll be uncovering which species call West Dunbartonshire home and helping to build a better picture of the incredible biodiversity on our doorstep. For more sessions in this series .
