Bring the children together for an energetic, joyful introduction to the power of rhythm!
Children will be introduced to West African drumming, learning traditional rhythms, listening skills, teamwork and musical discipline.
It's proven that exposure to regular drumming improves confidence, social skills,
focus and rhythmic sensitivity.
Led by legendary Bristol cultural educator Rubba Stephenson, this interactive workshop invites children and parents to connect, play, and express themselves through traditional African percussion.
No experience is necessary, and all drums and percussion instruments are provided.
Why Join Us?
Family Bonding: A rare opportunity for parents, carers, and children to learn a new skill and create music side-by-side.
Child Development: Drumming naturally boosts focus, coordination, listening skills, and body awareness in young people.
Pure Fun & Confidence: A welcoming, high-energy environment designed to shake off stress, build self-esteem, and spark creativity.
Community Spirit: Meet your neighbours and celebrate local Bristol culture through the universal language of rhythm.
Rubba would love to build on the classes each week to aim to create a performance with the children for the local community
