Chi Me movements are based loosely on ones from the “Sun” school of Tai Chi.Tai Chi is extremely beneficial and worthwhile but can take a long time to learn.
Chi Me enables attendees to see benefit from movement quickly and accessibly in a flowing enjoyable sequence that helps promote balance, mobility and calmness.
It has less stances than Tai Chi and all are front facing to aid quick learning and make it easier for people with restricted movement.
Through slow repeated movements, it can help teach muscle memory and spacial awareness which decreases as we get older. Through safe and structured movement of the joints it promotes mobility and can help maintain or improve this in everyday life for regular attendees. It can also promote the production of synovial fluid in joints.
In building strength in the muscles as we move, it helps with balance and helps with fall management, increasing people’s confidence. It helps with all everyday movement by focussing on particular joints, such as ankles for walking, hips for bending, wrists for holding and spine for twisting and release of tension.
Overall, by having simplified foot and arm movements and limiting the stances, it is more inclusive and increases the chances of that people will be able to maintain their use and involvement and use it to improve their everyday life.
