CHAR and STAVE IS HOSTING A THROWDOWN
Philadelphia Baristas Prepare to Risk It All for $500 and the Glory of Making a Tiny Milk Swan
PHILADELPHIA, PA — Think you can pour a heart? Cool. Think you can pour a tulip? Impressive. Think you can somehow make a tiny rosetta while approximately 40 people stare at you and your hands suddenly forget how milk works?
Prove it.
On October 26th from 7:00–10:00 PM, Char & Stave is hosting a Latte Art Throwdown at its Chestnut Hill café, bringing together baristas, coffee nerds, caffeine enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys watching highly skilled people experience an unreasonable amount of pressure over a six-ounce cup of milk.
Competitors can enter for a $15 buy-in, with proceeds going to charity. And because bragging rights only pay so many bills, there's actual money on the line:
1st Place — $500
2nd Place — $250
There will also be merch and swag giveaways, because apparently we believe you can never own too many coffee-related things.
And this isn't exactly a quiet night at the café. We're bringing in a DJ, serving up drink specials, and turning the shop into a full-blown coffee party. Expect good music, questionable levels of caffeine, fierce competition, and at least one person who takes their latte art way too seriously.
The format is simple: competitors face off head-to-head, pouring their best latte art in an increasingly stressful battle for the approval of the crowd, the judges, and whatever mysterious force decides whether your milk is going to cooperate that night.
No latte art experience? Come watch.
Think you're the next great milk-pouring prodigy? Sign up here with a ticket purchase.
Have absolutely no idea what a latte art throwdown is but enjoy coffee and chaos? Honestly, you're probably going to have a great time.
This event is free for anyone coming to watch.
