About this Event
You are warmly invited to join the CCW EDI Reading Group, where we will be reading and discussing Great and Unfortunate Things, the acclaimed memoir by Professor Jason Arday.
For those of you who were able to attend the EDI and Anti- racism Committee, as part of the meeting there was a reflection moment with music to think about the passing of Professor Jason Arday. The idea of a reading group was proposed as part of the Black History month, and copies of his autobiography were made available at the meeting for people to take away and read.
The reading groups will start in November, one at each college. The approach is to do slow and close reading of the book with different people reading from a section of the book at each session. Followed by reflections, comments and open discussion. Even if you do not have the book, please come along and you will be able to hear the readings and join in the discussion.
