In "Care, Kin, Perspective," Mickayel Thurin presents mixed-media artworks that explore her emotions and familial connections. Using a variety of textile materials, paint, and drawing mediums, she creates a visual language to convey intimacy and moments of connection within her family. Beginning with her relationship to herself and navigating a journey toward self-love and actualization, Thurin investigates themes of perspective through empowerment, change, and anxiety, often expressed in self-portraiture, while centering those closest to her. In this exhibition, Thurin bridges fantasy and reality, offering a deeply human experience.
