The Sacred Veil is a collaboration between Eric Whitacre and poet/lyricist Charles Anthony Silvestri. It tells a story of life, love and loss. Silvestri’s wife, Julie, died of ovarian cancer in 2005 at the age of 36, leaving two young children. Although inspired by a personal friendship, the work shares a very human journey that many people can relate to.Canticum Chamber Choir with conductor Emily Cox welcomes renowned cellist Louise King, and pianist Cara Tran on our journey to present this intimate work in the warm acoustic of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rosalie.
NOTE: The texts in this work are confronting. We welcome the opportunity to raise awareness of Ovarian Cancer, and a percentage of ticket sales will go to Ovarian Cancer Australia.
