Join Nathan Somevi for the release of his new EP, Call You Later, with a full band featuring 7-string hybrid guitar, saxophone, keyboards and drums.
Nathan’s 7-string hybrid guitar lets him play guitar and bass at the same time, combining bass lines, chords and melody across one instrument. The music brings together Ghanaian influences, church music, gospel, blues, soul and jazz, with plenty of space for improvisation and the band to really play.
Nathan was nominated for Best Newcomer at the 2020 Scottish Alternative Music Awards and was a 2023 Scottish Jazz Awards Rising Star finalist. He has also performed at Glasgow Jazz Festival, The Queen’s Hall Edinburgh and Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival projects.
Opening the night is Laura Osa, winner of the 2024 Scottish Jazz Awards Rising Star Award. Her music moves between jazz, gospel, R&B and soul, with a spiritual quality to both her writing and live performances. She has performed with the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra and appeared at the Edinburgh Jazz & Blues Festival.
Come down for the first full live celebration of Call You Later, with two of Scotland’s rising jazz artists and some of Glasgow’s best players on stage.
