6:30pm: doors and drinks
7:00pm: the founder story. Jez Groom on building a behavioural science business from the first client to an exit: what worked, what nearly didn't, and what he'd do differently with AI today.
7:40pm: AI meets BeSci. Personalisation at scale, AI-run experiments, ethics and manipulation, and where the money is, with a quick live look at Saint, an AI employee, as a working example. Then Q&A.

The speaker
Jez Groom was recently appointed Professor in Practice at Durham University. Pioneering new frontiers in behavioural science, he recently founded small wonder, an SME-focused consultancy, and findmybesci.com, a matchmaking platform for behavioural science. He also sits on the board of bescy.org (the Behavioural Science Collective). Named Experienced Leader of the Year at the 2025 MCA Awards, Groom previously founded Cowry Consulting, ranking among the Financial Times UK's Leading Management Consultancies, before its multimillion-pound acquisition by VCCP Group. Prior to Cowry, he was Group Chief Strategy Officer at Ogilvy UK and co-founded #ogilvychange. His first entrepreneurial exit came earlier when EdwardsGroomSaunders was acquired by ENGINE, following career beginnings in advertising at BBH and Starcom.
