What is it?
Hosted by Owner Jon this is a chance for absolute beginners, legit wine ninjas and everyone in between to come and spend some time in our beautiful space to learn about wine - however you want.
What does that mean in practice?
Pretty much what is says on the tin. If you are brand new to wine. Jon can walk you through the basics of how to taste. Don't know your Chablis from your Chardonnay ;-) .. he will focus on whites. New to orange wine ... he'll talk to you about skin contact.
If you're a major super ninja pro - our list is dedicated to the leading lights of the exciting new-wave new-world wine scene. However experienced you are in wine, you probably won't have blind tasted a Carbonic Counoise from California. You can try wines you won't have seen elsewhere and immerse yourself in the stories of these fascinating producers.
What do I get for my ticket?
Each guest will receive two 100ml glasses of wine and some nibbles as well as 10% off anything else purchased during your visit.
Is the format flexible?
100%. If you just want to try a couple of wines before dinner ... all good. If you are a group of 8 who want to go on a whole wine journey ... after the first taste you have full flex on what you want to order and where you want to go next. And it's discounted!!
Why should I do this with you?
Jon started Nekter because he wanted to learn more about wine and was self-aware enough to know he would do that best with artificially imposed deadlines (we're sure many can relate) ... so his background is not coming through formal wine training, but over a decade of tasting wine, meeting winemakers, being inspired by brilliant sommeliers and asking a LOT of questions.
He now runs one of the UKs leading new world importers delivering wine to four of the top 5 restaurants in the UK, opened Nekter Deli in 2025 and is about to start opening restaurants!
