About this Event
What does a healthy relationship actually look and feel like, and how can we recognize when love, loneliness, need, or unhealthy patterns begin to blur those lines?
In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Finding Inspiration Foundation presents Breaking Cycles, Building Connection: A Conversation on Domestic Violence, a free evening of film, storytelling, and community conversation focused on domestic violence awareness, healthy relationships, emotional safety, and connection.
The evening will feature a special screening of “For Life,” a suspense film produced through Trayce Gardner’s One Black Woman Storytelling Lessons. Through its story, the film explores what can happen when the desire for love and connection makes it difficult to recognize unhealthy or potentially dangerous relationship dynamics.
Following the screening, Trayce Gardner will lead an open community discussion exploring themes from the film, including the difference between love and need, recognizing unhealthy relationship patterns, the role of friendships and support systems, and what it means to feel seen, valued, respected, and safe within our relationships.
Presented as part of Finding Inspiration Foundation’s Inspiring Film Series, the event uses film and storytelling as a starting point for honest conversations about mental health and issues affecting our communities. Attendees will also have opportunities to connect with community resources and leave with practical tools for reflection, support, and healthier connection.
This free Charlotte domestic violence awareness event is open to the public. Whether you are attending for yourself, supporting someone you care about, or simply want to better understand healthy and unhealthy relationship dynamics, you are welcome to join the conversation.
