About this Event
Bowl of Chalk’s ‘Curistorian Club’ is an informal way to meet like-minded people in the cosy setting of an historic London pub. Learn from experts about London, its history and how it continues to inspire writers, musicians and of course the incurably curious. Each evening will see two guest speakers either give a talk or delve a bit deeper in to their own particular specialism in the form of a Q and A with Jonnie Fielding, London Tour Guide, author and founder of Bowl of Chalk.
Curistorian Club #7
With guests Christopher Skaife and James Bacchi-Andreoli(Tower of London tales and artistic inspiration)
Christopher Skaife
Christopher Skaife joins Jonnie in conversation to discuss his extraordinary job as a Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) at the Tower of London. He is former Ravenmaster at the Tower, a special role involving the care of the ravens which have lived at the Tower for centuries. Drawing on his years working at the Tower, Chris will take us behind the scenes at one of Britain's most iconic landmarks while exploring the history, folklore and traditions surrounding the ravens and their home.
James Bacchi-Andreoli
Artist and art teacher James Bacchi-Andreoli explores how London has inspired some of Britain's most influential creative figures, including Gilbert & George, Phyllida Barlow and Vivienne Westwood. A lifelong Londoner, James reflects on how the city's architecture, streets and ever-changing character have shaped both these artists and his own creative practice.
