Tuition: $30, Materials: $3
Optional Hike: Sunday, October 25th at 10am
Join us as we walk in the paths of the people before us. Whether it be indigenous people, loggers, or forest fire fighters, we will learn how each one shaped the wilderness trails in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) that we can experience and enjoy today. Participants will develop a sense of appreciation for the peopled wilderness of the Northwoods, and a better understanding of the history behind the environment around us that we may already know and love. Students can expect to walk away from class with the materials and skills to enjoy the heritage trails of the area.
The session on Saturday will be a classroom session, focused on trail history and efforts to protect and preserve BWCAW area heritage. Participants are welcome and encouraged to join for an optional extra session on Sunday, which will be a six mile forest hike on the Powwow Trail.

Instructors Will Provide:
One year membership in the BW Heritage Trails and illustrated maps of the East and West Loop of the powwow Trail, a branded water bottle

Instructors: Martin Kubik & Tiffanie Ellis
