A fantastic free evening of music, book readings and artists - featuring kiwi songwriter John Hanlon who won the APRA Silver Scroll Award twice, plus a host of RATA awards, including Songwriter of the Year three years running. He will perform a combination of older and new songs. Local artists will introduce their artwork that will be displayed during John's songs and readings from my new novel Dancing With Ines. Lee Martelli, who is a local musician and the Development Manager, Scholarships at the University of Auckland will share her thoughts on how creativity can inspire community well-being.We will launch a project to enable the University of Auckland to grant awards to several creative students each year. They will connect and attend events around the world, and at a free five-bedroom residency in France, with other students and creative innovators. This will enable them to discover ways their creativity can inspire community and environmental well-being across Auckland Tāmaki Makaurau, and they will share their ideas and learnings to inspire us all. The project will be funded by royalties for every page of Dancing With Ines (https://dancingwithines.com) read for free by people here and around the world on apple or android on Kindle Unlimited (there is a free trial available).
Attendees will be encouraged to share the event on social media, so bring your phone! Please invite any friends, colleagues and people you know who are passionate about creativity making a difference to attend. Look forward to seeing you there ... 5pm socialising with light refreshments, start 5.30pm - Wheldon Curzon-Hobson
