About your host...
Salya Alhamdi is a British-born Palestinian writer and poet based in Yorkshire. Her poetry explores longing, love, grief, joy and belonging through the lens of nature.
Her poem 'I See Myself in You' was longlisted for the New Writers Poetry Competition 2025. Two of her poems, 'For the One Whose Infinite Mercy Flows Like the River' and 'A Summer Song in Spring', were also longlisted for the Fish Publishing Poetry Prize 2026.
