About this Event
Inspired by this year’s Black History Month theme, “Honouring Our Communities,” this interactive collage workshop invites participants to celebrate the people, places, memories and experiences that shape their communities.
Using magazine image transfers, transparent acetate and handmade cardboard frames, participants will create their own visual showreel, layering and rearranging images to tell different stories about community, identity and belonging.
This event is hosted by JILO, a collaborative artistic practice and art collective led by artists Joshua Nnamdi Obichere and Lilo Silveira Amaral.
No previous art experience is needed. All materials will be provided, and participants are encouraged to experiment, get creative and share their own perspectives.
This event is open to students, staff , alumni and exnternal guests.
