Description:
This October, Black Girls Govern will bring together Black girls and young women across Atlanta in partnership with Stacey Abrams’ Fair Fight Action, MTV’s Vote Early Day, Black Voters Matter, and Spelman Social Justice Program for an unforgettable celebration of civic engagement, midterm mobilization, and cultural power.
Taking place on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Spelman College, the Bash will create a space where Black girls, young women, and community members can connect with leaders, build their networks, learn how to engage in civic life, and leave inspired to lead. Blending nonpartisan voter education and civic action with inspiring speakers, networking, music, a live DJ, food, free products and swag, the event will make civic engagement feel meaningful, relevant, and joyful.
To help students turn civic knowledge into action, the Bash will also provide Lyft codes and shuttle transportation to the polls, alongside educational resources and tabling opportunities with voting rights organizations. Attendees will learn about the importance of voting, how to identify their polling locations, and how to make a plan to cast their ballots in the 2026 midterm elections. Through this combination of education, access, and celebration, Black Girls Govern aims to equip young people with the knowledge, resources, and confidence to participate in the democratic process.
