A two-day community convening for long-term survivors of HIV and allies in Houston Fri., October 23, & Sat., October 24, 2026.About this Event
Day One, Friday, October 23, will focus on connection, shared experience, and thriving with HIV across the lifespan. The day will begin with the People’s Plenary, creating space for community members to share their voices, experiences, and priorities. Sessions will explore HIV and aging, intergenerational experiences of living with HIV, and building resilience and learning to thrive. Through presentations, panel discussions, and interactive activities, participants will have opportunities to learn from one another, build connections, and identify what helps our community move beyond survival toward living, loving, and leading.
Day Two, Saturday, October 24, will build on those conversations with practical information, advocacy, wellness, and community engagement. Sessions will address ADAP and Medic*tion access, HIV advocacy, rural health challenges, and sex, intimacy, and pleasure as we age. The day will also include opportunities for celebration and connection through the TRP Cabaret, a Reunion group photo, interactive activities, and a community-centered closing. Together, both days are designed to provide useful information while creating space for the voices, needs, experiences, and strengths of people living and aging with HIV in Houston and surrounding communities.
Our Community Convenings are open to everyone! Long-term survivors, allies, friends, advocates, community members, and supporters are all welcome. If you want to be part of the community, conversation, and connection, we want you there!
The event is free, and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
