After nearly three years of writing, dreaming, researching, rewriting, and pouring my heart into this project, Backyard Climate Activist: Healing the Planet from Home is officially making its way into the world!Join me on Sunday, November 8, from 1–5 PM at The District Artisan Market & Patio in New Albany for an afternoon celebrating the book, Mother Nature, local food, sustainable living, and the incredible people in our community already doing good work for people and planet.
Backyard Climate Activist grew from a simple belief: ordinary people have far more power to create change than we've been led to believe.
Through the 7 Rs, Rewild, Reconnect, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rot, the book explores how the everyday choices we make at home can become a form of grassroots climate action, whether your backyard is a small urban balcony or sprawling rural acreage.
And because this book was never meant to simply be read, I wanted the launch to be about something bigger than a book signing.
So we're turning it into a Sustainability Fest! 🌱
Come spend the afternoon meeting local makers, growers, businesses, organizations, and community partners whose work connects us with nature, local food, sustainability, and a more resilient way of living.
I’ll be signing books throughout the event, and copies purchased directly from me can be personalized.
The first 50 people to purchase a book will also receive an exclusive Backyard Climate Activist bookmark + bumper sticker!
Come for the book. Stay for the community. Leave with a little more hope about what’s possible when ordinary people decide to do what they can, right where they are.
