On Dia de Los Muertos, it’s believed that the border between the spirit world and the real world dissolve. During this brief period, the souls of the dead awaken and return to the living world to feast, drink, dance and play music with their loved ones. In turn, the living family members treat the deceased as honored guests in their celebrations. Join Babes on Bikes DFW for our 4th Annual bike ride to celebrate our loved ones that have passed on with a coed bike ride on Sunday, Nov 1st. Dress up in your best Day of the Dead costumes and decorate your bikes in all the beautiful colors of the theme!
Meet at Dallas Farmers Market at 5:30pm. Wheels will go down at 6:30pm. We will cruise about 10ish miles around downtown at a social pace and end at a Dia de los Muertos themed party at Las Almas Rotas! There will be drink specials, an ofrenda, a DJ and a live cumbiq band at 8pm. There will be a designated safe space for bikes on the patio area with us. Las Almas Rotas hosts this Dia de los Muertos party every year and it’s EPIC and they are stoked to welcome us there again this year!
📌 Don’t forget your lights, spare tubes, necessary tools, etc. Helmets are highly encouraged. You ride at your own risk. We cannot stop for mechanicals, so have a rideshare app downloaded for emergencies.
📌 Kindly follow proper group ride etiquette – follow instructions of the leaders/blockers, call out hazards, and avoid suddenly changing lines or overlapping wheels. PLEASE STAY TO THE RIGHT AND RESIST SPREADING OUT so that cars may safely pass. Remember we are SHARING the road, not taking over the road.
