About this Event

What do we do when the thing that needs to change isn’t our ambition—but the way we’re carrying it?

In , Jovian Zayne offers a compassionate companion for navigating the moments when life, work, and responsibility feel heavier than usual. Drawing from her work as an executive coach and her own experiences navigating career, motherhood, uncertainty, and difficult seasons, Jovian invites readers to question the pressure to simply push through—and consider what it might look like to meet hard days with greater compassion.

In conversation with Tiffany Dufu, Jovian will explore the emotional realities that often accompany career transitions, job loss, burnout, caregiving, parenting, professional reinvention, and the everyday pressure to keep it all together. Together, they’ll discuss practical ways to reframe challenging seasons, quiet the inner critic, ask for help, and create more room for relief, reflection, and renewed possibility.

Whether you’re navigating a career crossroads or simply carrying more than usual, this conversation offers wisdom, perspective, and a reminder that you deserve a soft landing.

The NYPL bookstore will be on-site with a limited number of copies available for purchase. Jovian will sign books following the conversation.
