About this Event
Thanks-Giving Square and AURORA present a soundbath experience by multidisciplinary artist Stefanie Tovar. The audience is invited into a site-specific experience shaped by sound, voice, stillness, and collective presence.
Drawing from her practice of sacred sound, storytelling, movement, and meditation, Tovar will turn the Chapel into a space for listening—where the architecture, the human voice, and the resonance of the room become part of the artwork. Her sound work asks us to slow down, listen inward, and listen to one another, creating a shared experience that moves between the intimate and the collective.
Set within Philip Johnson’s iconic Chapel of Thanks-Giving, the experience becomes a meeting point between contemporary art and one of Dallas’ most meaningful civic spaces. The Chapel’s spiraling form, stained glass, and soaring acoustics provide an extraordinary setting for an evening centered on gratitude, humanity, and the possibility of being together.
Rather than simply observing an artwork, audiences are invited to become part of it—entering the Chapel, finding a place within the circle, and allowing sound to move through the space and through them.
