Implant complications in the esthetic zone present some of the most challenging situations in implant dentistry. Even when an implant is successfully integrated, improper three-dimensional positioning, hard- or soft-tissue deficiencies, restorative design and treatment-planning decisions can compromise the final esthetic result.
This interdisciplinary CE program brings together periodontist Dr. Shahram Vaziri and prosthodontist Dr. DongJin (DJ)
Shin to examine anterior implant complications from both sides of treatment.
Through clinical cases and interdisciplinary discussion, Dr. Vaziri will explore the surgical and biologic considerations that influence esthetic outcomes, including implant positioning, hard- and soft-tissue deficiencies, tissue management and strategies for preventing and correcting compromised peri-implant architecture.
Dr. Shin will address the restorative side of anterior implant complications, including restorative treatment planning, emergence profile and soft-tissue support, prosthetic design, material considerations and the role of digital workflows in achieving predictable esthetic outcomes.
Together, Drs. Vaziri and Shin will demonstrate how thoughtful planning and communication between the surgical and restorative teams can help clinicians recognize potential problems before treatment begins, manage complications when they occur and create more predictable outcomes in the esthetic zone.
This course is ideal for general dentists and specialists involved in implant treatment who want to strengthen interdisciplinary treatment planning and develop practical strategies for preventing and managing challenging anterior implant cases.
