ANCESTORS DAY – Siku ya Mababu
Honoring Our Ancestors • Celebrating Our Legacy
Saturday, October 24, 2026
Remember Them. Honor Them. Carry Their Legacy Forward.
Join the Pan African Cultural Community (PACC) for Ancestors Day – Siku ya Mababu, a special intergenerational celebration honoring the ancestors whose courage, sacrifice, wisdom, creativity, and determination continue to shape our families and communities.
Through African tradition, ceremony, drumming, music, dance, prayer, storytelling, and living history, we will remember those who came before us while celebrating the legacy they have passed on to future generations.
MORNING CEREMONY
10:00 AM (3455 Martin Luther King Dr.)
Begin the day with a powerful community libation ceremony honoring our ancestors.
The ceremony will feature African drumming, song, prayer, and the calling of ancestral names as we give thanks to our loved ones, elders, freedom fighters, community builders, and generations of ancestors who paved the way.
Participants are encouraged to bring the name or photograph of an ancestor they would like to honor.
