Join Oakland writers LINDA NORTON & KIRIL BOLOTNIKOV on Saturday, November 7th, from 2-4:00 for an afternoon of collaborative poetry and radical imagination at the wonderful Nomadic Bookshop in Oakland.
Linda's first two books include poems made of lines from Emerson's essays, Yelp reviews of California's prisons & jails, and a knitting manual. Her third book includes an essay about social solitude and centos (centi in Italian) made during the pandemic from books on her own shelves.
It's fun to scavenge bookshelves and make this type of poem with others in a classroom, library, or bookstore. If we have enough participants, we may break into teams to make poems and then present them to each other.
All ages welcome. Nearest BART station is 19th Street.
This event is free, but we'll ask that you donate what you can to support this wonderful bookstore and event space.
Linda's books will be on sale, all profits going to Nomadic. The holiday season will be upon us soon and you can find great gifts for friends and family on the Nomadic Bookshop shelves.
Stop in at nearby Two Pitchers after the event for food, drink, and friendship as the days get shorter.
