About this Event
Althea is a multimedia artist who offers her art as a tool of self reflection and a bridge towards community.
Her new work American Kaleidoscope digs deep into the emotions and opinions of Americans as they experience the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
True to her practice of marrying sociology and art, Althea has based her works on the survey responses of over 100 individuals and the inspiration of artworks by playwrite August Wilson and visual artist Romare Bearden.
This event is an opportunity to see the collection in full as well as understand and experience the motivations and methonds behind the works.
Attendees are invited to take the 250 IRL survey prior to the show via google forms.
