Why this evening matters
Canada has a clear opportunity and a clear challenge: creating more Canadian-headquartered companies that grow beyond the startup stage, cross $10M, $100M and ultimately $1B+ in revenue, and stay in Canada.
Meeting that challenge takes a community. Great companies are built when founders have access to experienced operators, investors, customers, technology, infrastructure and communities willing to share what they have learned, including the mistakes they have already made.
That challenge is being taken up nationally. Michael Buhr, Executive Director of C100, has called for Canada to surround ambitious founders with CEOs, operators and investors who have scaled companies, entered global markets, raised major rounds, won enterprise customers and learned the lessons these founders are about to encounter themselves.

Introducing the AIC Founders Lab
The AIC Founders Lab is being built around exactly that challenge: over 9,000 square feet at 570 Dunsmuir Street dedicated to helping founders move from idea to scale.
If you’re building, investing, creating or helping companies grow in Canada, we’d like you in the room.The AIC Founders Lab, the first community outreach program from the Alexander Innovation Centre, is being built in response to that same challenge.
On September 22, we’re bringing those pieces together.
