Webinar | Tom Trumble on Survival in Singapore: The triumph and tragedy of Australia's greatest commando operation
In honour of Remembrance Day, join us for a special Afternoon Light Live with acclaimed author and podcaster Tom Trumble, who will be unpacking the fascinating story of his latest book, Survival in Singapore: The triumph and tragedy of Australia's greatest commando operation.
Operation Jaywick has long been hailed as Australia’s most daring commando raid ever, even warranting its own 1989 TV miniseries. In 1943, Aussie troops hoodwinked the Japanese authorities in a stealth attack on occupied Singapore. But what happened to the unwitting and innocent Singaporeans left to cop the blame for what occupying forces assumed must have been an inside job?
The format will be a conversation between Tom and CEO Georgina Downer for the first 30 minutes, followed by 30 minutes of audience Q&A.
You can attend the event online via Zoom or in person at the Robert Menzies Institute.
