About the Instructor:

Skoobie is a professional dancer, choreographer, and dance educator specializing in Afro dance, hip-hop, and dancehall. With years of training and teaching experience, Skoobie has worked with artists and brands including Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Shenseea, Keke Palmer, Koffee, and Uncle Waffles. His passion for African dance culture has led him to train extensively with instructors from across the African diaspora, including opportunities through programs connected to Ghana. Through his classes, Skoobie creates an energetic and welcoming environment where students can build confidence, learn cultural foundations, and develop their performance quality.


Azonto Class Description


Join Skoobie for an exciting introduction to Azonto, a popular dance style originating from Ghana. This class will break down the foundations of Azonto, including its signature grooves, storytelling movements, musicality, and cultural significance. Students will learn technique, rhythm, and authentic movement vocabulary before putting everything together in a fun and engaging combination. Whether you’re new to Afro dance or looking to expand your movement repertoire, this class is designed to help you connect with the music, culture, and joy that make Azonto so unique.
