Aethenics is an interdisciplinary framework for investigating how information is organised, interpreted and transformed across physical, biological and cognitive systems.
Its central model follows a progression from:
Matter → Life → Thought → Mind
The framework proposes that cognition emerges through transitions between these states, with thought functioning as an intermediate position where sensory information, memory, prediction and symbolic representation converge.
Aethenics represents this relationship through the human trinary:

Rather than describing conventional mathematical values, the symbols represent three relational positions within a system, connected by equivalence and convergence.
A central distinction within the framework is between:
Algorithm — the procedural organisation of information.
Allegory — the symbolic organisation of meaning.
Aethenics investigates how these two forms interact within cognition and become expressed through language, perception and behaviour.
The Oculus represents the proposed observational interface between the individual mind and its surrounding information environment. It provides a model for examining how attention, communication, technology and temporal processing influence the construction of perceived reality.
Through polymathic analysis, Aethenics compares patterns across disciplines in order to identify structural relationships that may generate new hypotheses about cognition and meaning.
The framework does not treat metaphor as empirical evidence. Instead, allegories function as models for investigation, while algorithms provide structures that can potentially be tested, compared and refined.
Ultimately, Aethenics asks a fundamental question:
