This certificate course provides a practical foundation in trading and technical analysis. It introduces participants to price action, chart reading, candlestick patterns, trendlines, chart patterns, breakouts, retracements, moving averages, volume, momentum indicators, Fibonacci retracement, trading strategies, and basic risk management. The course intentionally gives greater emphasis to chart-based application and trading decision-making while retaining essential theoretical concepts needed to understand the limitations and proper use of technical analysis.

• Understand the basic principles and limitations of technical analysis.
• Read and interpret price charts, candlesticks, trends, support/resistance, and common chart patterns.
• Use major technical indicators—including moving averages, volume, RSI, stochastic oscillator, and MACD—to support trading decisions.
• Identify and evaluate breakouts, pullbacks, retracements, and potential reversal/continuation signals.
• Develop simple, rule-based trading setups using technical tools.
• Apply basic entry, exit, stop-loss, take-profit, and position-sizing concepts.
• Practice market analysis using real or historical price charts.

• Class 1: Introduction to Technical Analysis & Price Action – What is Technical Analysis? Basic principles, Technical vs. Fundamental Analysis, Supply and Demand Model, Price Action Concepts, Why Technical Analysis Works and Why It Can Go Wrong, brief market psychology, Dow Theory (practical overview).
• Class 2: Charts, Candlesticks & Trendlines – Types of charts, chart formation, Candlestick charts, long/short bodies and shadows, Marubozu, Spinning Tops, Doji, Hammer, Hanging Man, Piercing and Dark Cloud patterns, Bullish and Bearish Engulfing Patterns, Trendlines and the 3 keys to drawing effective trendlines.
• Class 3: Chart Patterns, Support/Resistance & Market Structures – Continuation patterns (Flags, Pennants, Symmetrical Triangles), Head and Shoulders continuation, Major reversal patterns (Head and Shoulders, Double/Triple Tops and Bottoms, Ascending & Descending Triangles), Rectangles, Rising/Falling Wedges, V formations, Trendlines and Channels, Failed signals (Bull Trap and Bear Trap).
• Class 4: Breakouts, Retracements & Trade Entries/Exits – What is a breakout? Methods for confirming and filtering breakouts, Support and resistance around breakouts, Retracements, Pullbacks and Throwbacks, Entry and exit points, Basic stop-loss and take-profit concepts, Introduction to trade setup and trade planning.
• Class 5: Moving Averages & Volume Analysis – Simple, Exponential and Weighted Moving Averages, calculating and interpreting moving averages, trend identification and signals, moving-average crossover concepts, volume analysis, volume as an indicator of trend strength, selected volume indicators, combining price, moving average and volume signals.
• Class 6: Momentum Indicators: RSI, Stochastic & MACD – Understanding momentum, RSI interpretation and trading application (Overbought, Oversold, Divergence), Stochastic Oscillator interpretation and application, MACD components, signals, and MACD Histogram, using momentum indicators for trend confirmation, combining indicators without overloading a trading setup.
• Class 7: Fibonacci, Volatility & Practical Trading Setups – Fibonacci Retracement (key levels, practical use, drawing correctly), Average True Range (ATR) and ATR-based stops, ATR Bands, ATR Trailing Stops, Bollinger BandWidth and %B (basic application), Bollinger Band Squeeze, simple multi-indicator trading setup.
• Class 8: Trading Strategy, Risk Management & Practical Market Analysis – Gap Trading Strategies, CCI Correction and selected simple trading strategies, Swing Charting (basic concept), Trade Management, entry/exit stops, stop-losses, take-profit points, position sizing, money management, Behavioral Finance and Market Sentiment (practical overview), sentiment indicators (VIX, open interest), integrated market-analysis exercise.
• Class 9 – Written final examination (1.5 hours) covering major concepts and practical applications from Classes 1–8, emphasizing interpretation, application, and basic risk management through MCQ/short questions, chart interpretation, and practical/problem-based questions.
