Hey changemakers! Ready to tackle one of our nation’s biggest challenges? As climate change intensifies and extreme heat becomes increasingly frequent and severe worldwide, Bangladesh faces growing challenges due to rising temperatures, urban heat islands and increasing environmental vulnerability. From scorching heatwaves to rising health risks and declining productivity, the impacts of extreme heat are becoming more evident across the country. But here’s the good news: You can be part of the solution! This year, the Department of Disaster Management and Resilience, supported by the BUP Disaster Management Forum (BUPDMF), proudly presents Disaster Management Exercise 5.0 (DMX 5.0), focusing on “Climate Change and Extreme Heat: Driving Action Through Sustainable Green Transformation.”
Building on the remarkable journeys of DMX 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0, DMX 5.0 aims to bring together university students nationwide to explore innovative solutions to climate change and extreme heat. This year’s program will feature the Tabletop Exercise (TTX) as an Inter-University National Case Competition, alongside a Poster Presentation on sustainable green transformation and heat resilience, encouraging participants to develop practical strategies for building a greener, more climate-resilient Bangladesh.
To address these growing challenges, DMX 5.0 will bring together students for an engaging two-day program featuring expert-led panel discussions and immersive tabletop exercises (TTX), where they will explore innovative solutions to tackle climate change and extreme heat through sustainable green transformation. By identifying gaps, proposing actionable strategies and developing sustainable solutions, participants will contribute to building a greener, more climate-resilient Bangladesh while growing as collaborative, confident leaders for the nation’s future.
This two day exercise will be held from 11 & 12 November 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday). It will elevate the student’s relations and cooperation through capacity building.
