About this Event

FULLY BOOKED: Please use the Waitlist function to be in line for any cancellation tickets.

Join us for an unmissable programme launch event under the murals of Òran Mór's auditorium.

Kirstin Innes discusses Agnes Owens’ work, including A Working Mother, which she wrote the introduction to the new edition for, and her eight months on the Writing In The Margins residency at the Agnes Owens and Alasdair Gray Archives, as well as the first ever reading from the work she has been inspired to create while on the residency, a contemporary adaptation of Euripedes’ The Trojan Women, set in the near future in a city very like Glasgow.

The evening will include an introduction to Owens’s writing and legacy, with readings from the new editions by William Letford and Chitra Ramaswamy.

It will also feature a conversation between Kirstin Innes and Chitra Ramaswamy, reflecting on their recent work with The Agnes Owens Archive, including Chitra Ramaswamy’s 2023 commission and Rich Things (2026), alongside Kirstin Innes’s ongoing writing residency supported by Creative Scotland.

The event will be chaired by writer and journalist Dani Garavelli.

Tickets are free. Booking required via Eventbrite.
