Abhang – A 600-Year-Old Devotional Music Experience
We present the timeless tradition of Abhang—a 600-year-old form of spiritual
poetry and music that originated in Maharashtra and has been sung for centuries
in praise of the divine. These sacred compositions are known for their powerful
simplicity, deep devotion, and the ability to create a peaceful meditative
atmosphere.
Performed live by accomplished musicians, this unique musical experience features a vocalist, harmonium, and tabla, coming together in perfect harmony to create an uplifting and deeply moving journey through sound.
Abhang is more than music—it is a path to inner calm, devotion, and meditation. The rhythmic patterns, soulful melodies, and heartfelt lyrics invite the listener into a space of reflection and spiritual connection.
Whether you are a lover of Indian classical arts, a traveler seeking authentic cultural
experiences, or someone looking for a peaceful musical meditation, this performance offers a rare opportunity to witness a centuries-old living tradition.
Experience the divine vibrations of Abhang in the
intimate cultural setting of Kochi Folklore Odeum—where heritage, music, and
